What is a HydraFacial and Why Should I Get It?

The benefits of HydraFacial

HydraFacials are one of the most popular medical spa facial treatments. In 2018, it was reported that a person got a HydraFacial every 15 seconds, and their popularity has only risen.

The reason is simple: they work and require no downtime. After just one treatment, your skin will be glowing and look and feel soft.

What happens during your treatment?

The HydraFacial combines cleansing, peeling, extracting, and moisturizing.

Your certified HydraFacial esthetician will first cleanse away all dead skin cells and sebum from your face and any other areas you’ve chosen (the neck, eye area, and hands can often be added).

They’ll then add a mix of up to 30% of salicylic and glycolic acids to the skin to help break up any dirt and oil on the skin. This is the “peeling” part of the process and is the equivalent of a chemical peel.

Lastly, the esthetician will run the HydraPeel Tip (which looks like a pen) across the surface of your skin. Using “vortex technology,” the HydraPeel Tip will remove blackheads, dirt, oil, and other impurities that may be clogging your pores or deadening the appearance of your skin.

At this step, you may also have boosters that target specific concerns, such as sunspots or fine lines. The HydraPeel Tip will then also hydrate and nourish the skin with moisturizing serums, which makes the entire treatment relatively painless.

What are the benefits?

Patients around the world love getting HydraFacials, and once you read about the benefits, you’ll understand why.

  1. A HydraFacial requires no downtime or preparation.

In 60 minutes or less, you can have considerably clearer skin and a dewy complexion. You might experience a little irritation and redness, but it is minor for most people and you could expect it to go away within a couple of hours.

You also don’t need to prepare in any way. You can even wear makeup following treatment, but you may not even feel the need to since fine lines will have dissipated, the size of your pores will be reduced, and your complexion will be brighter and glowing.

2. A HydraFacial works on any skin type.

Unless you have a sunburn, a rash, rosacea, or are pregnant, you can comfortably receive a HydraFacial at your local medspa. HydraFacials can be customized for any patient, even with those with extremely sensitive skin, hyperpigmentation, or acne.

Since HydraFacials also don’t involve steam treatments and the suction from the HydraPeel Tip works instead of manual extraction, it’s unlikely that you’ll experience lasting redness or even any inflammation.

3. A HydraFacial is virtually painless.

Unlike a treatment that involves cutting, scraping, lancing, or abrasion, the HydraFacial is extremely gentle. The HydraTip Peel deposits a serum as it’s swiped across the skin which is immediately soothing. You’ll never feel it being scraped across your skin.

Since the treatment does include a serum of acids, you may, at the most, feel a tingle.

For many patients, the treatment is relaxing and comfortable.

4. A HydraFacial is completely customizable.

As mentioned earlier, the HydraFacial can be entirely tailored to your specific needs. It can target dark spots, acne, areas of sun damage, fine lines, and winkles. It can focus on evening your skin tone and texture. It can also be customized for dry to oily skin.

The HydraFacial can be customized to work with the skin of an oily teenager or someone struggling with years of sun damage. Further, you can add additional areas to be treated, such as your neck or hands.

The HydraFacial can truly provide amazing results to any patient.

5. A HydraFacial provides amazing results.

You will be able to see the benefits of your HydraFacial treatment immediately. Most people first notice that their fine lines are diminished, their skin looks and feel softer, and that their blackheads are completely gone.

Here are just some of the ways a HydraFacial benefits your skin:

  1. Improved elasticity and firmness
  2. Evened skin tone
  3. Softened skin texture
  4. Diminished brown spots, fine lines, and wrinkles
  5. Decreased pores
  6. Reduced breakouts

The HydraFacial is an ideal treatment for nearly everyone. It provides amazing results in 60 minutes or less, isn’t painful, and doesn’t impact your plans for the rest of the day. The results of a HydraFacial do last longer than other facials, but you can expect to get maximum benefit from having one after four to six weeks.

For the entire month of March, Malibu Medical Group is offering our Platinum HydraFacial (60 minutes) for the price of our Express HydraFacial (30 minutes)!
