Food for your hair

You are what you eat is a famous saying that has validity. When it comes to your hair health, some of the best foods you can consume to promote growth, texture, and shine are berries (great source of vitamin C which has strong antioxidant properties that can protect hair follicles against damage from harmful free radicals that exist in the environment and naturally in the body. The body also uses vitamin C to produce the protein college which helps keep hair strong lessening the chance of breakage. The vitamin A found in spinach helps produce sebum, which moisturizes the scalp and the iron in spinach helps hair growth. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish (salmon, herring, mackerel) also have been linked to hair growth. Fish oil supplements are also used to help reduce hair loss. Avocados, nuts, and seeds, packed with essential fatty acids and nutrients, are also linked to combating the deficiencies that cause hair loss.
