A Healthy Nervous System Is A Key Factor To A Healthy Scalp

There are daily life choices we can make to maintain a healthy nervous system, some of those choices begin with the scalp. A healthy nervous system is what creates healthy skin in the scalp area. If you are someone who has a sensitive scalp, tingling scalp or paresthesia, this blog post is for you! Bringing health and awareness to the nervous system keeps us looking good on the outside, helping us to function best on the inside.

Why does my scalp tingle?

Like other areas of your skin, the scalp is filled with nerve endings. A continuing tingling sensation on the scalp is called paresthesia. This is when the scalp has more sensitive nerve endings. Tingling may occur as a result of nerve trauma, physical trauma, or irritation. Some of the most common causes of tingling scalp include skin conditions, irritation from hair products, and sun burns.

What can I do to keep my scalp healthy?

One of the key ways to support a healthy scalp is to bring lots of circulation to the scalp. Daily exercise, scalp cleansing, regular exfoliation, conditioning and stimulation through massages - are excellent ways to support the nervous system. When the nervous system is supported, the scalp area encourages healthy hair growth.
